Hi!, I’m Sam, a portrait and lifestyle photographer dedicated to capturing people as they truly are — with warmth, elegance, and honesty. I turn real moments into refined, lasting images through calm direction, beautiful light, and a simple, personalized process.
I work with portraits, couples, families, and brands, delivering thoughtfully edited galleries and handcrafted artwork designed to look natural, feel timeless, and live beautifully in print.
My love for photography began in college, when I first learned the fundamentals on my Pentax K1000 SLR film camera and developed black-and-white film in the darkroom. In time, friends began asking me to photograph their weddings — not with a typical, posed approach, but with someone they trusted to capture the day as it unfolded. They wanted to be fully present, and have someone make it look incredible. That remains at the heart of my work today.

Education & Professional Development
- B.A. in Art Education, Rhode Island College (1995–2000), with coursework in Photography I & II and studio arts.
- Ongoing participation in local workshops and professional trainings through Orion Photography Group.
- Proud member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) since 2017.

I plan every session so you don’t have to guess: we’ll align on style, location, and outfits, then shoot in flattering light with simple direction that feels natural. I keep the pace calm, help with posing when needed, and leave room for real moments.
The goal is straightforward photos that look like you on a really good day, with clean color and timeless edits. I limit bookings, bring backup gear, and deliver a polished gallery on time—no surprises, just quality.
We had Sam photograph our wedding. We were blown away at the gorgeous photos we got. The attention to detail and the way he captured the whole day is astounding. We have pictures from all the important interactions at our reception. How he knew where to be at what time with several hundred people milling around, I’ll never know. Both my husband and I are very camera shy. We don’t tend to like photos of ourselves, but there are over 1000 photos that I want displayed in my house. He made us feel so comfortable and it shows in the photos. I’ve never felt so beautiful in my life. I would 100% recommend him for any wedding or portrait photography you have.
